Hi Hans. First of all big thanks for find some time for grapplerINFO and our readers. Congratulations on the big win over top light heavyweight Michal Fijalka.

Thank you, im happy with this win.

What was your game plan for this fight? Did you want to fight standing or on the ground?

I wanted to keep standing because i think i have more advantage in my stand up game. on the ground was good for me to, but i preferred standing up.

Michal Fijalka in an interview we did with him just after the fight said he wouldn’t tap. If the referee didn’t’t stop the fight would you be able to secure the kimura so tight that he would eventually had to tap?

Yes i think so i felt the kimura was very tight, but maybe he has flexible shoulders. Next time he should not scream that is why the referee stopped the fight.  Or i break his arm.

Michal said that he feel unsatisfied and he would like to have a rematch with you. What can you say about that?

I understand that, he made a mistake on the ground and i took advantage of that, but a rematch would have the same decision.

Despite you’re a young fighter you have fought in 21 professional fights and you’ve won 16 of them which is really impressive. Can you tell us a little how your adventure with martial arts started and how you got into the ring?

I started with judo for children, after 6months my trainer said he only wanted to give bjj, when i was 16 i got my bleu belt. We trained in the same gym as albert kraus so of course I trained with albert kraus for 2 months before my first amateur tournament and i won. After a couple of fights i won the European amateur shooto championship. Then when I turned 18 I had my first pro fight. I still have the same coaches as the beginning except albert Kraus send me to his coach where I train already for almost 5 years.

What is your natural weight? Did you think off dropping down to 84kg (185lbs)?

I walk around with 100kg and drop down to 93, I feel good at this weight and still getting heavier. I never felt somebody to strong for me at this weight so I think this is good for me.

Maybe I good make 84 but maybe it would take to much strength.

With who do you prepare for your fights? Who is your head coach. We’ve seen very quick hands in your fight, did you train boxing a lot?

I have different coaches, My stand up I do at team super pro, with dennis krauweel. The ground I so at jiu-jitsu factory (before Yamasaki) with Mathieu peters. We have john van dijk for the power training. For the wrestling we have adriaan stoiti (5time Romanian national champion).  The mma I do at super pro and with jiu-jitsu factory we have an mma team.

I do every part of the fight equal.

You’re a up-and-coming fighter in the Netherlands. Can you tell us whether you had some talks with the major organizations from either USA or Japan?

I fought already for deep last year in japan. We are talking with different organizations both in usa and Japan but nothing concrete yet.

In what organization would you like to fight most?

Personally I don’t mind.

Is there anybody in the MMA world who you admire most or who was an inspiration for you?

Every top fighter because I know what you have to do for it. I always loved to see minotauro

And wanderlei silva fight.

Describe your daily routine? It is possible for you to make your living only from MMA and treat this sport as a regular job?

I train 2times a day and also give class. The combination of fighting giving classes and some sponsors give me the opportunity to train full pro. Its not always easy but I do what I like.

Thanks again for this interview. If you want to thank anybody, please don’t hesitate

No problem. I want to thank everybody who is helping me to become one of the best fighter in the world
